Minnesota Commercial Real Estate Women President's Message

“The leadership instinct you are born with is the backbone.
You develop the funny bone and the wishbone that go with it.”
–Elaine Agather

Happy New Year!

It’s that time of year for updating business plans, hanging up our holiday hostess hat, and joining the gym (again). As you all make your own plans for 2012, I want to share my hopes for our chapter in the coming months. We are over 200 MNCREW members strong and are actively shaping the local commercial real estate community through our leadership and accomplishments. While we host a vast amount of talent in our ranks, we often hesitate to take that next step of communicating our achievements to our peer set. This year, I challenge each of you to shout from your mountain top, toot your own horn, and help your female colleagues do the same. Be visible! You will be a living example to your colleagues, and to young women on the verge of starting their careers, and show that our industry is enriched by diverse participation from both men and women. MNCREW’s mission is to help influence the success of the commercial real estate industry by advancing the achievements of women – so fill out that nomination form for the CREWIE awards, encourage a fellow member to submit for In the Spotlight, and find other ways to spread the news that MNCREW is home to some of the Twin Cities' top real estate talent!

Sincerely,

Emily Nicoll, CBRE
