Twelve members of MNCREW attended the annual CREW Convention held in Houston, Texas on October 15-18. A few exciting happenings for MNCREW were announced at the Council meeting.

• CREW Foundation awarded ten $10,000 scholarships and Kristin Bush from the University of St. Thomas was one of the recipients! Congratulations to Kristin, who attended the convention and is currently an intern at Colliers Turley Martin Tucker in the appraisal division. Look for Kristin at future MNCREW meetings.
  
  
• MNCREW will be hosting the Spring Council of Delegates Meeting for CREW in June of 2010. Please watch for opportunities to get involved and help plan this spectacular event while showcasing the Twin Cities and our chapter to commercial real estate women all over the United States and Canada.
  
  
• The convention provided great networking, inspiring speeches and informative topics on the current state of the industry and economy. Some of the speakers were Dr. Mark Dotzour from Texas A&M University regarding the economic outlook and impact on real estate, Tom Peters who presented “Leading In Totally Screwed Up Times” and Arianna Huffington on “Becoming Fearless … In Love, Work and Life.” Breakout session topics included construction cost drivers, capital markets, foreign investments and sustainability, to name a few. • CREW Foundation held their annual auction in connection with the closing party on Friday night. CREW Foundation thanks each and every one of you who have made contributions, and there’s still time to give. Please contact Julie Kimble at julie.a.kimble@jci.com or look on CREW’s website.
  
  
• Next year marks CREW’s 20-year anniversary. Let’s help celebrate the success, opportunities and outstanding achievements of CREW over the next year and bring it all to a grand finale with a record attendance at the 2009 National Convention to be held in Boston September 30 -October 3, 2009.
